It was a crisp but sunny day for the Strathendrick ladies, together with their peers from Aberfeldy and Bannockburn, travelling to Edinburgh for an exciting development game against The Royal Dicks Veterinary Collage.

Playing 13 a side and bolstered by some extra players from RDVC, the Strathendrick ladies had to work hard against their young opposition who were fast and furious from the outset. However, after some encouraging words from team captain, Eilidh Paterson the Endrick ladies found their feet and began their fight back, increasing their tackle count to reduce the opportunity for the opposition to brake away.

After a tough 1st 20 minutes, the Endrick ladies started the 2nd third with a new found energy, tackling well and passing the ball with determination to exploit the space and creating a brilliant opportunity for Eilidh Paterson to add to the score with a sprint down the wing, followed up by a successful conversion from Marion Geerdink.

The final third saw points and conversions scored on both sides and both teams worked hard throughout to produced some high energy rugby that was entertaining to watch. The game ended in epic fashion with Rebecca Spring scoring her inaugural try in the dying minutes.

This Strathendrick ladies team continues to go from strength to strength growing in confidence and gaining valuable game experience as well as experience in playing as a team.

A great day of rugby had by all and a final score RDVC 75 -38 Strathendrick W1XV.
