Up until 10.00am on the day before this game the 2nd XV team put together by the hard working Chris (Tooney) Jewell were looking forward to this fixture.

At just after 10.00am a message informed the squad that Greenock were unable to raise a side and had conceded the fixture.

There was hope that GHA 3rd XV who, had also had their opponents call off, might be willing to travel. Unfortunately this did not prove to be possible and so the players selected were left with no rugby.

On the positive side, the league leaders Dalziel played and lost heavily to GU Hills. This result had the effect of moving Strathendrick into top position in the league albeit having played one game more.

The 2nd XV still have much to play for this season and are scheduled to welcome Whitecraigs to Fintry next weekend – kick off is 2.00pm. All players are asked to make their availability known as soon as possible.
