Strathendrick Rugby Club was very sad to learn this week of the death of one of its most loyal and long-serving supporters, Tom Yuill, at the age of 93.

Tom was an absolute gentleman and true Club stalwart having served as President from 1988-1991 and then as Treasurer for many years. In addition, he was a remarkable record-keeper for Strathendrick (noting not only results but scorers and players’ appearances) and writing match reports for the local press, over many, many seasons. Tom was made an Honorary Vice President of the Club in 2022. He was also a keen supporter of Balfron Rovers and the Forth and Endrick Football League.

Tom’s funeral will be held in Balfron Kirk at 11.00 on Friday 10 May, proceeding to Balfron Cemetery and a reception at Fintry Sports Club. SRFC members attending are requested to wear a Club tie or sweater.
