Strathendrick Announce New 1st Team Head Coach for 2020-21 Season

Jeremy Pemberton-Pigott6 Apr 2020 - 08:35

Strathendrick Rugby Club announce their new head coach ahead of the 2020-21 season..

With these troubled times we look ahead to better days where we can all enjoy the fun and excitement of the new season for 2020-2021. I am delighted to announce that we have appointed a new head coach for Strathendrick 1st XV for 2020-2021. Doug Smith has been coaching at Stirling County for the past year and also coaching teams at Dollar Academy for the past 3 years working under Don Caskie (recent Scotland U19 Coach). Doug is UKCC Level 2 Qualified and Strength and Conditioning Coach Level 1 Qualified. Doug has also played in the Endrick Jersey in years past alongside the likes of Gary Heron and Sandy Cuthbertson. We look forward to welcoming and supporting Doug in the coming year. Doug is a positive and enthusiastic coach and is keen to meet players as soon as is practical to discuss your thoughts and to establish some collective goals to lead us into the new season. Please join me in giving him a warm welcome and all our support.

We also would like to thank our departing Coaches Grant Sweenie and Les Wilson who have shown great commitment and energy to the Endrick cause over the past two years. We wish them the very best for the future and hope that they keep in touch now they are part of the Strathendrick Rugby Family.
